Below you’ll find answers to common questions about your ableCARE coverage, from warranty details to replacement procedures. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, our support team is always here to help.
Speech Apps🔗
I would like to change or try a new speech app.
Whether in the Evaluation phase, or if your device is approved and still in warranty, we can assist in changing and maintaining your preferred speech app.
To decide whether you’d like to replace your current speech app or try out another speech app, check out the article Considering a Change in Speech Apps?
- Then, visit our Warranty form, you’ll see an option to Replace or Swap an app and Add An App, and fill out the form that follows.
- Then look for a follow up email with further instructions OR a confirmation message. Some apps require further steps, if you have questions, reply directly to the confirmation email.
I would like to switch to TD Snap–a subscription-based app.

Why isn’t TD Snap speaking?
TD Snap is a Subscription Based Speech app, and the speaking upgrade may deactivate if the device is offline for too long.

Warranty and Service🔗
I’m looking for the Warranty & Service Requests Form.
Our Warranty & Service request form is your hub for any support needs, on this form you can request:
- Replacement Cases
- Replacement Chargers and Charging Cables
- Shoulder Straps
- Replacement Devices

My device is damaged, what do I do?
Even if a damaged device still works, it can be unsafe to use. Our five-year warranty covers all physical damage including:
- Screen damage
- Case damage
- Failing batteries
- Dead or frozen pixels
Follow these steps to make a warranty request:
- First, backup the device: Back Up Your Speech App
- Then visit our Warranty form
- Select Device Damaged (Broken Screen, etc.) and fill out the form that follows.
- Look for a follow up email with a shipping label and further instructions on how to backup.
- Then, ship the old device to us for replacement.
- If you have any questions, reply to the confirmation email.
I need to request a replacement case.
All accessories for the device are covered under the device warranty.
First, visit our Warranty form, you’ll see an option for “Case (Broken case, handle, kickstand, strap).”
Then, look for a follow up email with shipping confirmation.
Device Troubleshooting🔗
How do I unfreeze my QuickTalker Freestyle?
The QuickTalker may freeze if left in guided access. Be sure to end guided access so the device is allowed to update automatically overnight, if left in guided access, the device may freeze when attempting to update.

I forgot my passcode.
There are a few different passcodes that can exist on the QuickTalker Freestyle. Follow each link for guidance in relation to the specific passcode prompt on the device screen.
