How to Update Your Speech App Automatically

To ensure that your QuickTalker Freestyle operates seamlessly, it is essential to have it connected to a WiFi network so you can receive automatic updates for the speech app loaded on the device. This is crucial for the proper functioning of the speech app, as updates often include important features that contribute to an optimal communication experience for the device user. Therefore, keeping your QuickTalker Freestyle connected to WiFi ensures that you always have access to the latest advancements. This only applies to devices that are managed by AbleNet.

Please follow these step to connect your QuickTalker Freestyle speech device to wifi:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Click on “Wi-Fi”
  3. Ensure it is toggled to the “on” setting
  4. Select your Wi-Fi network
  5. Input your Wi-Fi network’s password, if applicable
  6. The device will check to see if a new version of the app is available automatically

We recommend that the QuickTalker Freestyle remain connected to Wi-Fi while charging at night (The device is on, the screen is off, the device is plugged in) so that it can receive overnight updates and reduce the impact of updates during the day while being used.
