Personal Voice is an iOS feature that lets your child’s QuickTalker Freestyle speak in a natural voice that sounds familiar, like a parent, sibling, or close friend. This article shows you how to record a Personal Voice so you can use it in your child’s speech app.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following ready before you start:

  • A voice donor. This is the person (such as a parent, sibling, or close friend) who will record the voice your child will use.
  • A speech app that supports Personal Voice installed on the device: Avaz, LAMP Words for Life, Proloquo, Proloquo2Go, Speak for Yourself, TouchChat, or WeaveChat.
  • 10–15 minutes in a quiet room.
  • Connect your QuickTalker Freestyle to Wi-Fi.
  • Set Up Your Passcode.

Important: Personal Voice does not work on older QuickTalker Freestyles with Home Buttons and MagConnect Cases. It works on all other QuickTalker Freestyle models. For the latest details, see Apple’s Personal Voice support article.

    • Note: If the room is too noisy, the device will ask you to move somewhere quieter before you can keep recording.
  10. Wait 1–5 minutes while your Personal Voice is created. Keep the device connected to Wi-Fi.
  11. Your Personal Voice is now ready to add to your speech app!
