You can record what’s happening on your screen while you talk on the QuickTalker Freestyle, so others can see and hear exactly what you’re doing. This is handy for showing how to use a speech app, sending a quick how-to video, and showing a problem to a therapist or support team.
Before You Begin
Add the Screen Recording button to the Control Center. You only need to do this once.
- Swipe down from the top-right edge to open Control Center.
- Tap the (+) icon in the upper right
- Tap Add a Control at the bottom.
- Tap Screen Recording.
- You should now see a gray Record button in the Control Center.
Start Recording
- Open to the screen you’d like to record.
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center.
- Press and hold the Screen Recording button (the circle icon).
- Tap the Microphone button so it turns on.
- Tap Start Recording, then wait for the 3-second countdown.
- Exit Control Center by swiping up from the bottom center of the screen.
- Talk through what you’re doing as you tap.
- For example: “I’m opening the app… now I’m pressing this button…”
Stop Recording
- Tap the Screen Recording button (now a red circle) at the top of your screen.
- Tap Stop. Your video saves automatically to the Photos app.
Tips for a Clear Recording
- Speak slowly and clearly.
- Say what you’re tapping as you tap it, so viewers can follow along.
- Keep recordings short and focused.
- If your voice didn’t record, make sure Microphone is turned on before you tap Start Recording, then try again.
