My Speech App Is Frozen!

If your QuickTalker Freestyle speech app is frozen, freezing, or not opening, this is likely from an app update that hasn’t been completed.

The update process depends on how your device is managed.

Open your QuickTalker Freestyle Settings and look in the top left above the account. If you see “This iPad is supervised and managed by AbleNet,” your device receives automatic updates.

To allow the update to complete, you’ll need:

  • An unrestricted Wi-Fi connection
  • Guided Access turned of

Once connected to Wi-Fi with Guided Access disabled, the update will push to your device automatically.

If you don’t see the supervision message in Settings, you’ll need to manually update the app through Screen Time restrictions.
