1. Go to settings (bottom right corner)
2. Select Appearance
3. Scroll to “Default Grid Size”
4. Choose your preferred Grid size

Tip: Choosing a Grid size should be determined based off of visual and motor skills of the user.

Gateway is an optional add‑on vocabulary pack designed to enhance communication for a variety of users. While not commonly used by all Proloquo2Go users, it provides expanded vocabulary sets tailored for children, teens, and adults.

Accidentally enabling a hold duration is the most common reason why the app has stopped speaking. Follow the steps below to check and fix this:

1. For 5-10 seconds, press and hold the Settings button in the bottom‑right corner of the screen to open the menu.
2. Select Access Method.
3. Make sure “Hold Duration” is set to 0.

If Grammar Support is enabled but not functioning, check the interaction settings:

1. Select Options
2. Select Interaction
3. Ensure “Secondary Trigger” is set to Hold
4. Set the “Hold Duration” to 0.5 seconds

If you receive a “damaged file” message, try the following steps:

1. Open your Device Settings and clear some storage to free up space.
2. Perform a force restart on the device.
3. Reopen Proloquo2Go and the vocabulary file should automatically restore.

1.  Open device settings.
2. Scroll all the way down on the left-hand side and select Apps .
3. Select Proloquo2Go.
4. Toggle on the “Show Options” button .
5. Now exit the settings app and open the Proloquo2go app.
6. Select the gear option in the bottom right corner.
7. Select Restrictions 
8. Toggle on “Edit Mode.”

While phonetics is a great way to start learning how to spell, it’s not the only strategy available to teach literacy.

AssistiveWare believes that AAC users should receive explicit phonics and literacy instruction through teaching activities, while using a QWERTY keyboard in Proloquo2Go to develop real-world spelling and typing skills.
