Some Things To Know About Ordering A Keyguard🔗

Ordering a keyguard for your QuickTalker Freestyle speech device is simple and takes just a few minutes. Keyguards are available free of charge to all QuickTalker Freestyle users, whether you need a standard template, custom design, modification, or replacement.

Before You Start🔗

To complete your keyguard order, you’ll need the following information: 

Device and Funding Request Information 

• Your funding request number. (For help finding your funding request number, please click here.) 
• Your device case version: 
  • QuickTalker Freestyle – Four Threaded Holes
  • QuickTalker Freestyle – MagConnect on Kickstand

Not sure which case version you have? 

Look at the back of your device. If your device has four threaded holes and one or more QR codes on the back kickstand, then you have a  QuickTalker Freestyle – Four Threaded Holes. 

If you see a round MagConnect attachment on the kickstand, you have the MagConnect version. 

Speech App Information 

• The speech app currently installed on your device (examples include TouchChat, Proloquo2Go, LAMP Words for Life, or others) 

Keyguard Preferences 

• Color choice: clear or black 
• Template type: standard or custom 

Understanding Your Keyguard Options 🔗

Standard Template Keyguards 

Standard templates match the default button layout for your speech app. These keyguards are ready to manufacture as soon as you place your order and ship quickly. 

Choose a standard template if your speech app uses the default layout without modifications. 

Custom Keyguards 

Custom keyguards are designed specifically for your unique layout needs. You might need a custom keyguard if you’ve modified your app to include a larger message window, different sized buttons, or a personalized button arrangement. 

When you request a custom keyguard, we’ll create a layout based on your specifications and send it to you for approval before manufacturing.

How to Place Your Order 🔗

Step 1: Complete the Keyguard Request Form 

Visit the keyguard request form and provide your device information, speech app details, and keyguard preferences. 

Request a Keyguard Now 

Step 2: Submit Your Request 

Once you submit the form, we’ll receive your request and begin processing your order. 

Step 3: Review and Approval (Custom Keyguards Only) 

If you requested a custom keyguard, we’ll create a layout that matches your specifications and send it to you for approval. Review the layout carefully and let us know if any changes are needed. Once you approve the design, we’ll begin manufacturing. 

Step 4: Manufacturing and Shipping 

After we receive your order (or your approval for custom designs), we’ll manufacture your keyguard and ship it directly to you with installation instructions. 

Timeline Expectations 🔗

Standard templates: Manufacturing typically begins within two business days of your order. 

Custom keyguards: Timeline varies based on design complexity and your approval process. We’ll work with you to create the right solution and keep you informed every step of the way. 

Ordering for Multiple Devices 

If you need keyguards for multiple QuickTalker Freestyle speech devices, submit a separate request form for each device to ensure accurate tracking and proper fit. 

Modifications and Replacements 🔗

Need to modify an existing keyguard? Before you submit a new keyguard request be sure to select “Custom” so that we can reach out to you and confirm your customizations. 

Need a replacement keyguard? If you recently received a replacement device through warranty and your device now requires the integrated sideCLICK Keyguard, submit a new keyguard request with your current device information. Replacement keyguards are available free of charge to all QuickTalker Freestyle users.

Once you receive your keyguard, refer to the installation guide included with your shipment. You can also find detailed installation instructions online:
