Legacy Keyguard Information

There are two different version of the QuickTalker Freestyle. The easiest way to identify which version you have is to look at the back of the device. Your device will either have four threaded inserts AND two QR codes on the kickstand OR a Round MagConnect on the kickstand.

The keyguard information in this article is for QuickTalker Freestyle cases with a round MagConnect on the kickstand.

How to Install the sideCLICK Keyguard:

  1. Attach the camera side and charge port side clips to the device. We recommend attaching the clip’s top side (screen side) first, then pressing it firmly so the back side slides on.
  2. Align and insert the two tabs on the keyguard into the holes on one of the clips.
  3. Firmly press down on the other side of the keyguard to lock it in place.
  4. To remove, firmly pull up from the middle to release the keyguard.

Video: Suction Tape and Keyguard

How to Install the Suction Tape Keyguard:

  1. Remove the keyguard and Suction Tape from the packaging. 
  2. Line up the keyguard with your application to determine the correct side to lay face down on the screen.
  3. Flip the keyguard over onto a flat surface.
  4. Use a scissor to cut small strips that will fit onto the keyguard from the suction tape provided.
  5. Peel off the white side and attach the suction tape to the keyguard edge.
  6. Peel off the clear side and adhere the keyguard to the screen.

Note: The suction tape is not the same as traditional tape and does not use sticky adhesive. The surface of this tape has thousands of microscopic craters that work by creating many partial vacuums between the tape and the target surface, like a suction cup. Please clean the screen before applying the suction tape for the best result.

How to Install the Magnetic Keyguard:

  1. Remove the keyguard and magnet attachment plates from the package
  2. Clean the areas around the QuickTalker Freestyle screen where the rectangular metal attachment plates will be placed with alcohol.
  3. Allow 30-60 seconds for the area to be completely dry.
  4. Peel away the backing on one of the metal attachment plates
  5. Place the metal plate on the QuickTalker Freestyle case in one of the designated rectangular areas
  6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 for the remaining 3 metal plates
  7. Attach the keyguard to the QuickTalker Freestyle case

Magnet Strength Specifications

  • Directly on the magnet: 250 Millitesla (2500 Gauss)
  • 1/4″ away: 33.8 Millitesla (338 Gauss)
  • 1/2″ away: 6.8 Millitesla (68 Gauss)
  • 1 1/2″ away:  effectively 0 Millitesla (0 Gauss)
