Setting Up Blue2 Switch Access with the QuickTalker Freestyle and Go Talk Now Plus🔗
Step 1: Connect Blue2 to QuickTalker via Bluetooth
- On the QuickTalker device, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth.
- Power on the Blue2 and press the Bluetooth button located next to S1.
- Blue2 should appear in the QuickTalker Bluetooth device list. Select Blue2, then select Pair.
QuickTalker is now connected to the Blue2.
Step 2: Configure Blue2 Switch Assignment
Ensure that pressing the desired switch cell (blue or yellow) is mapped to the space bar — indicated by the first symbol that lights up on the switch.
To change the switch assignment:
- Toggle on the M (circle icon) on the underside of the Blue2.
- Press the switch repeatedly until it scans through and highlights the first symbol (space bar).
- Toggle off the M to save the setting.
Result: The space bar symbol will now highlight every time the switch cell is activated.
Step 3: Configure Scanning in Go Talk Now Plus
- Open Go Talk Now Plus.
- Select Settings, then scroll down to Scanning.
- Set Scanning Device Type to Space and Enter Switch.
- Configure Auto Scan based on access method:
- One switch auditory scan: Toggle Auto Scan on.
- Two switch step scanning: Leave Auto Scan off.
- Toggle on Go Talk Now Auditory Cues Replace iOS Cues.
- Scroll up and select Regular Volume under the auditory cues setting.
Step 4: Set Up Auditory Cues per Cell (Optional)
To add individual auditory cues to page cells, follow these steps for each cell:
- Go to Page Editor.
- Select the desired cell.
- Select Auditory Cue and program the cue content.
- Select Done.
- Repeat for each remaining cell.
Note: Auditory cues must be programmed individually for each cell.
Step 5: Configure Player Settings
- From the main screen, hold down the home (house) icon for 8 seconds to access Player Settings.
- Open Settings.
- Under Player Settings, select Auditory Cues and choose Regular Volume.
- To enable auditory cues for navigation and interface features, toggle on Auditory Cues for Navigation/Interface.
