How to Reinstall Your Speech App That Requires a Subscription or In-App Purchase From the App Store
When you receive a replacement QuickTalker Freestyle, AbleNet typically installs the speech app. However, if you are using a speech app that requires a subscription (e.g., TD Snap) or an in-app purchase (e.g., Proloquo2go + Gateway), you will need to reinstall your app from the App Store and re-enable your subscription or in-app purchase.
To reinstall your speech app, complete the following steps:🔗
- On your device, go to Utilities > Settings and sign in to your Apple Account.
- Connect your device to unrestricted Wi-Fi. If you are in a school or hospital/clinic where Wi-Fi is restricted, connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot on your mobile phone.
- Scan the red QR code on your replacement device’s screen and complete the online form. The App Store will be unlocked for 1 hour. It may take up to 5-minutes for the App Store to appear in the Utilities folder on your QuickTalker Freestyle.
- Open the App Store and tap your account in the upper right corner.
- Tap on Apps > My Apps
- Search for your app (e.g., TD Snap, Proloquo2go, etc) and tap on the install button.
- Once your app is reinstalled, follow the setup steps and re-enable your subscription or in-app purchase.
