When you receive a replacement QuickTalker Freestyle, AbleNet typically installs the speech app. However, if you are using a speech app that requires a subscription (e.g., TD Snap) or an in-app purchase (e.g., Proloquo2go + Gateway), you will need to reinstall your app from the App Store and re-enable your subscription or in-app purchase.

To reinstall your speech app, complete the following steps:🔗

  1. On your device, go to Utilities > Settings and sign in to your Apple Account.
  2. Connect your device to unrestricted Wi-Fi. If you are in a school or hospital/clinic where Wi-Fi is restricted, connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot on your mobile phone.
  3. Scan the red QR code on your replacement device’s screen and complete the online form. The App Store will be unlocked for 1 hour. It may take up to 5-minutes for the App Store to appear in the Utilities folder on your QuickTalker Freestyle.
  4. Open the App Store and tap your account in the upper right corner.
  5. Tap on Apps > My Apps
  6. Search for your app (e.g., TD Snap, Proloquo2go, etc) and tap on the install button.
  7. Once your app is reinstalled, follow the setup steps and re-enable your subscription or in-app purchase.
