TD Snap by Tobii Dynavox requires a subscription for full functionality. The subscription, the Speaking Upgrade, allows for voice output when buttons are pressed in the app. AbleNet provides the funds for the subscription. You’ll need to follow these steps to activate the device.

Set Up Your TD Snap Subscription

Before you begin these steps, make sure you have requested the TD Snap app through our warranty form. This allows our Device Management team to make the necessary changes to unlock the device before you activate your subscription.

1. Set Up Your Apple Account: Please set a new Apple Account for the QuickTalker Freestyle. If you need help, please refer to our dedicated account creation guide.
   • Important: When setting up your Apple account, make sure to enter a birth year that makes the account 18 or older. This is required to install apps and subscribe to services. 
2. Download the TD Snap App
   • After setting up your Apple account and signing in, open the App Store and search for TD Snap. Download the app to your device. 
3. Set Up Your Mail App: 
   • Make sure your Mail app is set up to receive emails, as you will receive a subscription gift card via email. Note: If your Apple Account email address is ended in @icloud.com you should good to go. If your account email ended in anything else, please sign in to your account. 

Request and Redeem your Payment Card

1. Submit Your TD Snap Subscription Payment Card Request.
2. Visit the following link to request your TD Snap gift card: Subscription | QuickTalker Freestyle 
   • If you need don’t have your FN number, please click here.  
3. If you have any issues getting the gift card, please contact ableCARE.
4. Check Your Mail App for the Payment Card email.
5. Redeem Your Payment Card: 
   • Open the email and click the orange redeem button. This will redirect you to a web browser to complete the redemption. 

When the web page open perform the following;

1. Select “Redeem”. 
2. Select “Redeem” again. 
3. Select “View Code”. 
4. Select “Reveal Card Details”. 
5. Select “I am ready to spend”. 
6. Copy the gift card code. 

Then open the app store,

1. Tap your Apple account icon in the top right corner. 
2. Select “Redeem Gift Card or Code”. 
3. Choose “Enter Code Manually”. 
4. Paste or type the gift card code, then select Redeem. 
5. You should see your fund amount added to your Apple account.  
6. If prompted with an ad or claim option, select “No Thanks” and click “OK.” 

Activate Your Subscription

Lastly, activate your subscription in the TD Snap app.

1. Open the TD Snap app. 
2. Set up your user profile.  
   • Note: If you need help, please connect with your SLP or call ableCARE. 
3. In the TD Snap Vocab page, tap the speech bubble icon in the top right corner (it has a line through it). 
4. Select the option: “1 Free Month / $9.99 per month.” 
5. Tap “Subscribed”. 
6. Enter your Apple account password to complete the purchase. 
7. If prompted to review, select “Continue” and enter the client’s address to finalize payment setup for sales tax. 
8. Select “Done.” 

After you have subscribed, it’s recommended that you test the vocabulary to ensure that voice output is working. You should now hear voice output for the TD Snap app.
