Creating a dedicated QuickTalker Freestyle Apple Account for your QuickTalker Freestyle only takes a few minutes. To get started, select from the options below:


    Create an Apple Account on the Web

    We require a new Apple Account for each QuickTalker Freestyle speech device.

    • Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Set up a new Apple Account with the parent’s/guardian’s name and birthdate (do not use an existing Apple Account). Do not associate this new Apple Account with Family sharing or set up any Screen Time restrictions.
    • Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Set up the new Apple Account in the device user’s name and with their birthdate (do not use an existing Apple Account).

    Please write down and save your credentials. They will be needed to continue with the Funding process.

    We recommend following these steps on a computer rather than a mobile device.

    Creating a New Gmail Account

    We recommend setting up a new email address exclusively for the QuickTalker Freestyle Apple account. Gmail is one of many free email services you can use to create a new email address.

    1. Go to the Gmail Sign Up Page:
    2. Fill in your personal information.
      • Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Enter the parent’s/guardian’s name and birthdate.
      • Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Enter the device user’s name and birthdate.
    3. Choose an email address and create a password.
    4. Agree to Terms and verify your account.
    5. Complete Setup.

    Creating an Apple Account Using the New Gmail Address

    1. Go to the Apple Account Creation Page:
    2. Enter Your Personal Information:
      • Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Enter the parent’s/guardian’s name and birthdate.
      • Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Enter the device user’s name and birthdate.
    3. Enter Your Gmail Address.
    4. Create a Password:
      • Enter the same password that was used for your Gmail account.
    5. Provide a Phone number for Two-Step verification.
    6. Complete verification and agree to terms.

    AbleNet’s device configuration team will contact you to request the two-factor authentication code to sign into the new Apple Account. Once signed in, they will load the speech app onto the QuickTalker Freestyle.


    Create an Apple Account using Apple Music on an Android Device

    We require a new Apple Account for each QuickTalker Freestyle speech device.

    • Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Set up a new Apple Account with the parent’s/guardian’s name and birthdate (do not use an existing Apple Account). Do not associate this new Apple Account with Family sharing or set up any Screen Time restrictions.
    • Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Set up the new Apple Account in the device user’s name and with their birthdate (do not use an existing Apple Account).

    Creating the Gmail Account

    The creation of a new adult email address exclusively for the QuickTalker Freestyle is required for the creation of an Apple account. Gmail is one of many free email services you can use to create a new email address. 

    1. Go to the Gmail Sign Up Page: 
    2. Fill in your personal information as follows: 
      • If The Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Enter the parent’s/guardian’s birthdate. It’s recommended that you use the device users’ name despite requiring the use of the parent/guardian’s birthdate to keep possible existing accounts from being recognized as the same account. 
      • If The Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Enter the device user’s name and birthdate. 
    3. Choose an email address and create a password. 
    4. Agree to Terms and verify your account. 
    5. Complete Setup. 

    Creating the Apple Account with Apple Music on Android:  

    Please note: That by following these instructions you will not be subscribing to Apple Music.

    1. Download the Apple Music application for the Google Play store by tapping here: Apple Music – Apps on Google Play 
    2. Tap on “Sign-In” written in pink text in the top right corner of the screen 
    3. Tap on the grey button near the bottom of the screen that says “Create New Apple Account” in pink letters 
    4. An adult account over the age of 18 is required for this account. Fill in your personal information as follows: 
      • If The Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Enter the parent’s/guardian’s birthdate. It’s recommended that you use the device users’ name despite requiring the use of the parent/guardian’s birthdate to keep possible existing accounts from being recognized as the same account. 
      • If The Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Enter the device user’s name and birthdate. 
    5. Enter your newly made email address dedicated to the QuickTalker Freestyle 
    6. Create a Password: 
    7. Enter the same password that was used for your newly made Gmail account. 
    8. Provide a Phone number for Two-Step verification. 
    9. Complete verification and agree to terms. 

    AbleNet’s device configuration team will contact you to request the two-factor authentication code to sign into the new Apple Account. Once signed in, they will load the speech app onto the QuickTalker Freestyle.


    Using the iOS / iPadOS Apple Mail App Settings to Create an Apple Account

    We require a new Apple Account for each QuickTalker Freestyle speech device.

    • Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Set up a new Apple Account with the parent’s/guardian’s name and birthdate (do not use an existing Apple Account). Do not associate this new Apple Account with Family sharing or set up any Screen Time restrictions.
    • Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Set up the new Apple Account in the device user’s name and with their birthdate (do not use an existing Apple Account).

    Create an Apple Account in the Mail App

    Make sure that the “Mail” app is Installed before following these next steps: 

    1. Go to your iPhone/iPad’s main settings page using the App named “Settings” with the grey gear icon located somewhere on your home screen. 
    2. Scroll down to the bottom option called “Apps” (Older models of iPhones that are 12 or below will not have this tab. In this case, search for the Mail App on the main settings page or using the search bar.) 
    3. Find and Tap on the Mail App 
    4. Tap on the first option, which says “Mail Accounts” 
    5. Tap the last option on the next screen “Add Account” 
    6. Tap on the iCloud logo 
    7. Find the prompt that says “Create New Apple Account” in blue (you may have to scroll) and tap on it 
    8. An adult account over the age of 18 is required for this account. Fill in your personal information as follows:
      • If The Device User is Under 18 Years Old:  As the parent/guardian, you will be the device administrator. Enter the parent’s/guardian’s birthdate. It’s recommended that you use the device users’ name despite requiring the use of the parent/guardian’s birthdate to keep possible existing accounts from being recognized as the same account.  
      • If The Device User is 18 Years Old or Older:  Enter the device user’s name and birthdate. 
    9. On the next screen, tap on the prompt “Don’t have email address?” (In blue text under the text box asking you to enter an email address)  
    10. Name and create a new iCloud email 
    11. Create a password 
    12. Follow the rest of the steps until the account is created  
    13. You will be returned to the “Mail Accounts” screen once the account is created 

    AbleNet’s device configuration team will contact you to request the two-factor authentication code to sign into the new Apple Account. Once signed in, they will load the speech app onto the QuickTalker Freestyle.


    How to create an Apple Account on your QuickTalker Freestyle

    We require a new Apple Account for each QuickTalker Freestyle speech device.

    Follow these steps to create your QuickTalker Freestyle Apple ID:

    1. Begin by connecting to WiFi.
    2. In Settings, tap Sign in to your iPad. You will be prompted to enter an Apple ID. Tap Don’t have an Apple ID or Forgot it? Then tap Create Apple ID.
    3. Enter the user’s First and Last name. If the user is under 13, use a parent’s Date of Birth. Users under 13 are not allowed to download apps from the App Store.
    4. Next, create a new email address by selecting Don’t have an email address?, then Get an iCloud Email Address. You will now be prompted to create an Apple ID. Enter your preferred Apple ID.
      • Note:  The QuickTalker Freestyle Apple ID requires a new email address, which is only used for this device.
    5. Create a password.
    6. Enter a phone number you can use to verify the account. Then, use the code you receive to verify your account.

    AbleNet’s device configuration team will contact you to request the two-factor authentication code to sign into the new Apple Account. Once signed in, they will load the speech app onto the QuickTalker Freestyle.
