Setting Up a Bilingual Toggle in Unity
Step 1: Adding a Non-English Language to Your Vocabulary Filesπ
- Select Vocab, then Choose New Vocab.
- Go to the menu at the top right.
- Select Language and Region.
- Click the plus icon in the top right corner.
- Select the supported language you would like to add (e.g. Spanish, French).
- Select the blue checkmark in the top left.
- Now, further vocabulary options will populate!
Step 2: Creating Personalized Vocabulary Copies for Both Languagesπ
- Select the desired vocabulary in English.
- Select Customize.
- Rename the vocabulary (e.g., Unity 28 Sequenced β Jane Doe).
- Hit Save.
- Repeat steps for other language vocabulary.
- Now, you should have a vocabulary for each language under βMy Files.β
Step 3: Adding a Bilingual Toggleπ
- Go into English vocabulary.
- Think about where you want to set up the toggle and navigate to that page.
- Go to Menu, then Edit Page
- Select the button you want to act as the toggle.
- Edit the button by selecting Create New Button.
- Change the button label to the language name (e.g., βSpanishβ).
- Scroll to the bottom and delete all actions currently on button by going to Edit and clicking on the red icon to the left of each action.
- Select Add Action under Button Actions.
- Select Go to Vocabulary.
- Select the vocabulary you want the page to toggle to.
- Select Save at top right.
- Select Done at top left.
- One toggle is now set up! Repeat steps for any additional vocabulary.
