Setting Up a Bilingual Toggle in Unity

Step 1: Adding a Non-English Language to Your Vocabulary FilesπŸ”—

  1. Select Vocab, then Choose New Vocab.
  2. Go to the menu at the top right.
  3. Select Language and Region.
  4. Click the plus icon in the top right corner.
  5. Select the supported language you would like to add (e.g. Spanish, French).
  6. Select the blue checkmark in the top left.
  7. Now, further vocabulary options will populate!

Step 2: Creating Personalized Vocabulary Copies for Both LanguagesπŸ”—

  1. Select the desired vocabulary in English.
  2. Select Customize.
  3. Rename the vocabulary (e.g., Unity 28 Sequenced – Jane Doe).
  4. Hit Save.
  5. Repeat steps for other language vocabulary.
  6. Now, you should have a vocabulary for each language under β€œMy Files.”

Step 3: Adding a Bilingual ToggleπŸ”—

  1. Go into English vocabulary.
  2. Think about where you want to set up the toggle and navigate to that page.
  3. Go to Menu, then Edit Page
  4. Select the button you want to act as the toggle.
  5. Edit the button by selecting Create New Button.
  6. Change the button label to the language name (e.g., β€œSpanish”).
    • Scroll to the bottom and delete all actions currently on button by going to Edit and clicking on the red icon to the left of each action.
  7. Select Add Action under Button Actions.
  8. Select Go to Vocabulary.
  9. Select the vocabulary you want the page to toggle to.
  10. Select Save at top right.
  11. Select Done at top left.
  12. One toggle is now set up! Repeat steps for any additional vocabulary.
