You cannot change the grid size in LAMP Words for Life. There is only one grid size of 84 icons. If you need to limit the number of icons to begin with, you can use Vocab Builder.
To turn on Vocab Builder:
In the app, select Menu, then Vocab Builder
Toggle the Vocab Builder ON
Enter words to have on your list, or hide/show words in the vocab
Select Done
In LAMP Words for Life, icons don’t always look exactly like the words on purpose. The buttons stay in the same place so users can learn where the words are and communicate more easily over time.
Some words—especially abstract ones—are hard to show with pictures, so icons give a helpful hint, not a perfect match. As users gain experience, they depend more on the button location and the language, not the picture.
The Vocab Builder in LAMP Words for Life lets you focus on a specific set of words for teaching or practice. When turned on, only the selected words are visible. It’s best used during structured activities or targeted instruction, then turned off to allow for full vocabulary exploration.
