You’re here because: You’re trying to open the App Store to download an app, but it’s missing or blocked on your device.

The App Store Is Blocked on Purpose

The QuickTalker Freestyle is a medical device for speech. Insurance funds it as a dedicated communication device, so it should only be used for communication. To keep it that way:

  • Limited access to system apps and the App Store keeps the focus on the speech app.
  • Remote management keeps the speech app updated and working, so you don’t need the App Store for speech app updates.
  • Locked settings prevent accidental deletions or changes that could affect communication.

What to do:

  1. Use a separate device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) for any other apps you want to download.
  2. Read “Where’s YouTube?” Why Your Child’s AAC Device Is Built Just for Communication to learn more about why the device should be used for communication only.

You Need the App Store Unlocked

If you need the App Store unlocked, you’ll need to contact ableCARE. Not all requests to unlock the App Store will be approved.
