Summary๐Ÿ”—

This article will teach you how to clear the message from your BIGmack speech device. This task should take you less than 3 minutes.

Required Items๐Ÿ”—

  • 9-volt alkaline battery
  • BIGmack speech device

Instructions๐Ÿ”—

  1. Check the battery in your BIGmack
    • Flip the BIGmack over.
    • Twist the D-shaped clip to open the battery door, then check that the device has a 9-volt alkaline battery and that there is no visible corrosion.
    • Push the door back into place, then turn the D-shaped clip clockwise to secure the battery door.
  2. Power on the BIGmack
    • Locate the rotary/volume switch on the back of the BIGmack.
    • Turn the switch to the right to turn on the BIGmack.
  3. Clear the messages
    • Find the “Record” button on the back of the BIGmack.
    • Press and hold the “Record” button until you hear a beep (about 10 seconds).
    • Press the top of the switch to confirm that the messages are gone. The LED record light should blink orange.
    • Your BIGmack is now cleared of all previous messages and ready for new ones!

The video below demonstrates this process.

Tips and Troubleshooting๐Ÿ”—

  • If the process does not work, you may need a new battery. Replace your batteries and try the process again. Follow the battery guidelines below:
    • We recommend always using regular, alkaline batteries to avoid any issues with recording or playing messages.
    • Do not use batteries labeled โ€œHeavy Duty,โ€ โ€œIndustrial Grade,โ€ or โ€œProCell.” These types of batteries handle power differently than regular alkaline batteries, and when used in our devices they behave similar to low or dead batteries.
    • Make sure the replacement batteries are new and recently purchased. Used batteries or those that have been sitting a while may not have the power to operate the switch correctly.
