Tips and Troubleshooting๐Ÿ”—

The LED positioned above the record switch displays the status of the BIGmack. Here are the LED colors and light patterns for each status:

  • Red LED
    • Four flashes in a row – the battery is low
    • Steady for 1 second – the device is powered on
    • Steady – the device is in record mode
    • Continuous flashing – a message is being recorded
    • Single flash – a message is being played
    • Flashing, followed by audible warbled beep – the device’s memory has been cleared
  • Yellow LED
    • Steady for 1 second – the device has no recorded message
    • Flashing (while in Record mode) – the device’s memory/ storage is full

Battery๐Ÿ”—

We recommend always using regular, alkaline batteries to avoid any issues with recording or playing messages. Batteries labeled โ€œHeavy Duty,โ€ โ€œIndustrial Grade,โ€ or โ€œProCell” handle power differently than regular alkaline batteries. When used in our devices they behave similar to low or dead batteries.

Additionally, Make sure your battery is new and recently purchased. Used batteries from other devices or batteries that have been sitting for a while may lack the power to operate the switch correctly.

The video below demonstrates how to install a 9V battery into the device.
