QuickTalker Freestyle Screen Protectors
AbleNet is committed to continuous improvement, and as part of that effort, we have launched a beta program to evaluate the effectiveness of tempered glass screen protectors on the QuickTalker Freestyle.
Starting June 3, 2026, all replacement QuickTalker Freestyle devices fulfilled through a warranty claim will ship with a tempered glass screen protector already applied. Tempered glass screen protectors are a well-established solution for protecting device screens against direct impacts and everyday scratches.
Have questions? Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the tempered glass screen protectors on the QuickTalker Freestyle.
What is this clear thing on the screen of my replacement QuickTalker Freestyle?
The tempered glass screen protector is applied directly over the QuickTalker Freestyle’s multi-touch display. Depending on the device, users may notice a small gap between the edge of the screen protector and the plastic frame of the case; this is normal and expected.
All QuickTalker Freestyle warranty devices will ship with a screen protector already applied, providing an added layer of defense against impacts and everyday scratches.
Are tempered glass screen protectors safe?
The tempered glass screen protectors used by AbleNet are custom-fitted for the QuickTalker Freestyle screen and meet both CPSIA and California Proposition 65 compliance standards.
In the event of a high-impact break, the glass is designed to shatter into small, blunt granules rather than sharp shards. The adhesive backing keeps those granules together, helping to minimize the risk of injury.
Will the tempered glass screen protector impact the usability of the multi-touch screen?
No, the tempered glass screen protector will not impact usability.
What should I do if the tempered glass screen protector cracks?
If the tempered glass screen protector cracks, stop using the device immediately. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can remove it by gently lifting one edge and peeling it back.
If the screen beneath is undamaged, you may resume using the device and contact ableCARE to request a replacement screen protector.
If the underlying screen is also cracked, do not continue using the device. Instead, submit a warranty request for a broken device to receive a replacement.
I see bubbles under the tempered glass screen protector, what should I do?
As long as the bubbles do not distract the device user or interfere with viewing the screen when the device is turned on, you may continue to use the device. If the bubbles interfere with the usability of the device, please contact ableCARE to request a replacement screen protector.
Can I order the tempered glass screen protector from AbleNet as an accessory?
Not at this time. We are evaluating their effectiveness through a controlled beta program. Once we have sufficient field data, we will determine if they become available as an accessory.
Will my keyguard still fit with the tempered glass screen protector applied?
Yes, your keyguard will snap into the QuickTalker Freestyle case.
Can I purchase a tempered glass screen protector from Amazon or another retailer and add it to my QuickTalker Freestyle?
This is not recommended. Most tempered glass screen protectors available through Amazon or other retailers are designed to extend edge to edge across the screen, which can interfere with the QuickTalker Freestyle’s case. In some instances, the case may press against the edges of the screen protector, causing it to lift or separate from the screen over time.
