How Can I Secure the Switch Top on My Big Red?

If the switch top on your Big Red becomes loose or detaches during use, you can secure it with a small amount of semi-permanent adhesive. This will provide additional resistance to help hold the switchtop in place and prevent it from coming off easily.

Required Items
To secure your switch top, you will need one of the following adhesive options:
- Elmer’s School Glue
- Hot glue from a hot glue crafting gun
- Thread seal tape (plumber’s tape)
- Removable mounting or poster putty
Instructions
- Turn off the Big Red and ensure the switch top and mounting area are clean and dry.
- Select an adhesive from the recommended options based on your preference.
- If using glue or putty, apply a small amount directly to the threads of the switchtop. If using thread seal tape, wrap a thin layer of tape around the threads before reattaching the switchtop.
- Carefully screw or press the switch top back onto the Big Red, ensuring a snug fit without applying excessive force.
- If using glue, allow sufficient drying time as recommended by the manufacturer before use.
Tips and Troubleshooting
If the switchtop is still loose, try adding an extra layer of adhesive or thread seal tape for a more secure fit.
Avoid using permanent adhesives, as they may make future removal difficult or damage the device.
To remove the switch top later, gently twist and pull it off. If needed, use warm water to soften glue-based adhesives.
