Follow these steps:

1. Turn device off
2. Connect a switch to either of the Input/Output jacks
3. Press and hold the connected switch, then turn the iTalk2 on
4. Release the switch

You should now be able to press the external switch to activate the iTalk 2’s recorded messages.
