BIG Candy Corn 2 Switch is Not Activating My Device

Summary
This article provides troubleshooting steps for the Big Candy Corn Switch 2 not activating a device. It covers checking connections, ensuring the controlled device has power, and identifying low battery indicators on the switch.
Causes
There are four main reasons that the BIG Candy Corn 2 switch may not be activating the device it is connected to:
- The ⅛” (3.5mm) mono connector is not fully inserted.
- The device being controlled is powered off.
- The device being controlled has low or depleted batteries.
- The Big Candy Corn 2 switch has a internal battery.
Solutions
Please follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem:
- Ensure the BIG Candy Corn 2 plug is fully inserted into the device’s switch port. Remove and reinsert it to confirm a secure connection.
- Turn off the device you are trying to control, then turn it back on again. Verify it is functioning properly without the switch connected.
- If the device you are trying to control is battery operated and is not functioning properly without the switch connected, replace the batteries with new, unused batteries.
- If the BIG Candy Corn 2’s LEDs flash red, this indicates a low battery. Replace the batteries with 2 new AA alkaline batteries.
We recommend always using regular, alkaline batteries to avoid any issues with recording or playing messages. Batteries labeled “Heavy Duty,” “Industrial Grade,” or “ProCell” handle power differently than regular alkaline batteries, and when used in our devices they behave similar to low or dead batteries.
Make sure your batteries are new and recently purchased. Batteries that have been used for other devices or those that have been sitting a while may not have the power to operate the switch correctly.
