How Do I Activate an External Device with a LITTLE Step-by-Step

Instructions

  1. Ensure you’ve properly installed a new, 9V Alkaline battery into your device.
  2. Turn the device on.
  3. Select the level you’d like to record on by moving the Level switch to 1, 2, or 3.
  4. Press and hold the RECORD button on the back of the device until the LED lights up solid Red, then release the switch.
  5. Press and hold down the main switch top of your device to record your message. The LED will flash Red when recording.
  6. Then to assign it to toy/appliance port, while still holding down the main switch top, press the back record button once. The light will flash green one time to indicate that it has been assigned. You can release the switch top after this.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for additional messages/levels.
  8. When finished, press the RECORD button one time to exit record mode.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • We recommend a message of at least 3-5 seconds for the output to activate your toy or appliance
  • You can increase the length of the toy or appliance activation time by recording a longer message. 
  • Some toys or appliances require a 1/8-in (3.5-mm) mono plug-to-plug adapter cable to connect an external device. This is included with your BIG Step-by-Step.
