Introduction

The Battery Device Adapter is an activity support that allows a switch to operate an internally powered toy or appliance. To get started with the Adapter, please follow the steps below:

Verify that device will work with Battery Device Adapter

  1. While device is active (playing music, lights, moving, etc.) remove the battery.  This will stop the device from operating.
  2. Place the battery back in the device.  If the device spontaneously starts operating again – this device will work great with an adapter.

Install the Battery Device Adapter

  1. Remove the battery door and place the copper disk of the Adapter between the battery contact and the battery.
  2. Ensure that the battery contact is touching one side of the disk and the battery is touching the other side of the disc.  A lot of battery devices will have a plastic guard on the positive terminal.
  3. Plug your switch into the 1/8″ (3.5mm) mono jack of the Adapter
    • The Adapter will work with any wired switch with a 1/8″ (3.5mm) mono jack, including all AbleNet wired switches.
  4. Activate your switch

Your device will work as long as the switch is being activated.
